Hai! I'm Emma, and I recently got addicted to knitting. I've been going on Etsy for a while, pretty much obsessed with it, and the jealousy I felt when I saw someone with a sucessful shop was unbelievable. I never really thought of myself as a business sort of person, but when I saw people making adorable little things I couldn't stop myself. The biggest problem was that I wasn't particulaly talented to do anything good enough to sell. I can paint, I do art at sixth form but I'm not really of the buy-able level, if you get what I mean. :)One day I saw someone knitting and remembered those days when I was about seven and getting increasingly frustrated at the dropped stitches and unfinished scarves. I thought it was worth a try, and asked my Mam (who I wouldn't have been able to start this without) to get me some needles and wool. Armed with the Usbourne book of knitting for children, I had somewhere to start.
And so with my Mam helping me and a variety of wools, I started making monsters to protect phones, and purses that would hopefully catch someones eye.
Now, I have my shop and some things on there. It's not much but at least it's a start. I can't leave it alone for more than an hour: I keep checking the views and the hearts and its amazing, how something so small can keep me amused. And that's where this blog comes in! I'm determined to make this work and get my customers to know me, and maybe make a little money too. But more importantly it's just for fun, and to show I can do something sucessful :) I hope you'll keep checking if you're reading this, and maybe help me get a shop like one of those people I was so jealous of.
